Marple Centre

MEDICAL LOAN
The British Red Cross Medical Loan Centre is at 16, Derby Way, Marple, adjacent to the Red Cross shop [tel.: 0161 427 2114]. Here you can borrow wheelchairs, commodes, bath seats etc., for up to 3 months by paying a small deposit of £20 (any item). As a registered charity we welcome donations to maintain this valuable service.

FIRST AID COURSES
The Marple Centre offers first aid training for members of the general public. These courses are held on Thursday evenings (19.30 to 21.30) at St. Martins Church Hall, Brabyns Brow, Marple Bridge and all cover treatment of an unconscious casualty; CPR procedures for adult, child and infant; treatment of major bleeding, burns, and fractures; treatment of major illnesses including child illnesses. Depending on demand we will offer the following courses in 2010:

BASIC FIRST AID - 4th March to 24th March (4 x 2 hour sessions) [Price £60]

BASIC FIRST AID - 22nd April to 13th May (4 x 2 hour sessions) [Price £60]

EMERGENCY LIFE SUPPORT - 17th June AND 24th June (2 x 2 hour sessions) [Price £45]

BASIC/PRACTICAL FIRST AID – BASIC -30th September to 21st October (4 x 2 hour sessions) [Price £60]; PRACTICAL 30th September to 11th November (8 x 2 hour sessions) [Price £105]

Concessions apply to people under the age of 18 years. We welcome enquiries from church groups, scouts, guides or other organisations anywhere in the Stockport area for the delivery of first aid courses outside these dates at their own premises. Courses include Save a Life Child and Baby Stage 1 (3 hours, £40); Save a Life Child and Baby Stage 2 (3 hours, £40); Save a Life Adult Stage 1 (3 hours, £40) and Save a Life Adult Stage 2 (3 hours, £40).
