Yes somerfield bought the texaco garage last march and theyare going to knock down and rebuild the shop get rid of carwash and have a jet wash instead they are really keen on all there shops/petrol stations they look nice so will look good for marple wether it will do well is another story as the shop will sell fresh veg/meat etc but at forecourt prices not supermarket prices  so time will tell

Funny old place for a Tesco.  You'd think they would go for the Hanburys site.  Give the Co-op a run for its money.  I am a lover of neither.

My mum spoke to the ridge and themselves do not know if they are closing any sites down apparently nothing has been decided yet.

I have heard that hibbert lane is closing and everything moving to the Buxton lane campus.

I personally wouldnt mind a tesco store, but I probably wouldnt say that if it was going to be opposite my house!!

What about the level of traffic on Buxton lane when this happens though, it will go up in volumes, as well as all them coaches that collect from the college.

I love the houses on Buxton lane, and would love to have a house on that road, but would this devalue the property prices, Ive got no idea '<img'>

The 'TEXACO' petrol station is to be demolished and a new petrol station with a Somerfield mini-market is to be built in its place. I know this because I live on Shirley Avenue behind the petrol station.  :alien:

If you hear any rumours regarding the ridge and building work, why not speak to the ridge college themselves. They might be able to help you find out if the rumours are true of not.

Sorry, A bit more specific - it is the garage at the junction of Church Lane, Stockport Road and Station Road - Where the less law abiding run behind!

Not sure about the Tesco but the Garage on Station Road has a planning application in for redevelopment and rebuilding of the site - new improved petrol?
