Title: Marple clock makers

Hi,

I understand that there was a family of clock makers from Marple called 'Clayton' late 1600's to late 1700's.  I have a long case clock made by Ralph Clayton around 1790.

Does anyone have any information regarding these clock makers?

Any information would be much appreciated.
