Why are all the shops closing down? i seem to have noticed quite a lot of shops have closed, is there any reason?
-
I'm not sure that's fair.
Savers is being turned into a Superdrug and More Choice is apparently going to become a bakers. Other than those two I can't think of another empty trading unit in the town!
-
Sew Easy has closed, Plus the Hairdressers next to them. I have also noticed that the Baby shop on Church Lane has shut.
-
Handbags and Gladrags has closed recently too hasn't it?
-
Think more choice was handbags and gladrags.
A bakers would be nice, but wont they be in competition with all the others in Marple, i.e Archers, The rolling pin, Grenably farm, Gregs, co op , littlewoods (sells organic bread) and the new deli opposisite the co op (which is very nice by the way).

The hairdressers closed because the hairdresser moved away from the area.
-
They only moved on to market street
-
Who did?
-
Rachel are you thinking of the hairdresser next to the wallpaper shop top end of market street, i know that they use to be near to texco garage. I meant the hairdresser next to seweasy.
-
the hairdresser next to the wallpaper shop used to be on derby way and moved a couple of years ago. i think rachel was talking about handbags and gladrags who also have a part in trek and travel.

Anyone know anymore about what is happening to the shop next door to Johnson’s on the Hollins parade? Looks like a lot of work is going on there, just wondered if anyone knew what the plans for the place are? A weigh and save would be nice!!!

its going to greenhalghs bakery. just to add to all the others in marple
-
Well I for one am pleased that Greenhalgh's are coming to town. It will keep Gregg's on it's toes.
I like Archers pies but can't afford them
Gregg's sausage rolls give me indigestion
Granary farm opens late

The bread at Deli Select near the co op is delicious, and the customer service is excellent.
