Title: Hibbert Lane - Marple's very own ash cloud
Post by: marpleleaf on May 26, 2010, 10:16:43 AM
I'm no expert on road resurfacing, but Hibbert Lane is a complete mess. The pot holes were filled in last week, then on Friday the road was covered in gravel, it's obviously part of the structure of the road, but it's been left for 5 days now, creating clouds of dust.

The speed limit hasn't really worked either.

Been in touch with the council and awaiting a response.

There are very little funds this year for road repairs, this option was the best value for money and the surface should stay in place. Please lobby your local MPs for more money for road repairs.

The contractors who did the work rang me back this week. They explained how the hot dry weather made the sealing difficult. Took a while, but at least they took it seriously. Quite like it now.
