Title: Marple Carnival Thank You
Post by: Stockport Classic Bus on June 17, 2012, 07:02:23 AM
A huge thanks to all those who came for a ride on the old bus yesterday in the Marple Carnival. Along with the 'Rose Queens of Yesteryear' we had a full load of sightseers and carnival-goers who enjoyed a trip around the streets! In the process our charity donation bucket groaned under the weight of donations....including some notes instead of coins! Hope you all enjoyed it. Cheers!

For those interested, apart from being over at Peak Rail in Rowsley on Sunday 17th June, the bus will be at Stepping Hill Hospital's Open Day on 30 June, as one of the attractions. Many years ago it performed duties on the then 92 service along the A6 past there.

Yes it has access to the bus station but there are no plans for it to use that area this summer. It is scheduled to operate some heritage weekend charity day trips from Stockport to Hayfield and Buxton via Marple in the early autumn. More details in July!!
