At the National Civic Voice Convention and AGM held in Coventry late last month, the evening reception, held at the 14th century St Mary’s Guildhall. Marple Civic Society received a Civic Day award for “Innovative Community Engagement” presented by the Civic Voice director Steve Graham. The National President Griff Rhys Jones alerted delegates in his speech to the dangers inherent in the government’s new, more relaxed, National Planning Policy plus other amusing and relevant topics.
