Marple Councillors have lost out in their groups annual elections Candler was defeated as Deputy Leader and both Candler and Dowling failed to gain election to the Lib Dem slate to be nominated as the Council's Executive. Only Alexander of Marple Councillor remains at the top table altohught the unchallanged Group Leader/Council Leader is of course a Marple resident. She will allocate the Executive Portfolios.

Wheels, on this occasion I intrigued by your inside knowledge. The accuracy of which I don't doubt for one minute, but there is nothing on any of the Council's websites so how could you possibly know this.
-
Why would the results on internal group elections be on the council web site. Come now Simone. Candler will serve as Deputy Leader of the Council until the Annual Council later this month. At that point Mark Weldon will be nominated as the new Deputy Leader of the Council and Candler and Dowling will be removed from the Executive being replaced by the two successful candidates. At that point the Council web site will be updated.

Wheels,
This is becoming more difficult by the minute. I accept all that you have said, my point is if this information is not freely available then how do you know it, when none of us do ?
-
Simone, I understood your qustion first time round.
-
Fair enough, so what's the answer ?

It does not matter how I know what matters is the information is correct. Actually I think the information is now well into the public domain.
-
Simone, the phrase "it is my understanding that....." could be your middle name. He's only doing what you always do.
-
Who is the Mole?, any how I am pleased to read of of this "inside knowledge" Nemeses is working well- now for the other one.

I knew this last night wheels.
If people are not in the know on the liberal or on the liberal round robin whos fault is that.
-
I knolw blue this all happened at 6.30pm last night as you say folks seem not to have the info gathering skills of you and I. Off to boil a kettle now blue.
-
Wheels and indeed BlueZorro, considering the meeting you refer to didn't rise until 8.30pm (that is only my understanding of course Bowden) and Wheels made his posting @9.22, that is information gathering skills par excellence and is to be congratulated.
Particularly for somebody that doesn't know that there is a Conservative representative in the Heatons and that he is actually the next Mayor of Stockport.
As you're obviously in the know on these "Liberal Round Robins", I'd be interested Wheels to have my opinion informed by you as to why the Executive meeting had the outcome that it did.

Oh I think you have to direct that to the electorate don't you Simone.

Wheels,
Just thought that you might have had a view on it, that's all.

So interesting to hear the sandal-wearing, tree-hugging, EU-loving, promise-breaking Lib Dens arguing amongst themselves......

Not for the first time Bowden, but you've completely lost me on this one.

I am certainly not aware of any argument, what makes you suggest that there were just internal election like in any other organisation some people won others lost, but argument your very far from the mark there, particularly as their was a claer majority or view.

Let's not forget that every Lib Dem MP and 400 of their Prospective Parliamentary Candidates pledged:
“…to vote against any increase in (TUITION) fees in the next parliament and to pressure the government to introduce a fairer alternative.”

Would that be the tuition fees that Labour introduced ???????
