What shop?
-
the football shirt shop next to the scottish mans newsagents.
used to be the kitchen showroom
-
Next to Smithy Court (which used to be the Jolly Sailor)
-
Over the road from the Texaco Garage (which you may remember as Peace Farm) Amazon ;D
-
You know, a couple of miles away from the Iron Age settlement in Mellor.
-
Oh dear, someone is going to get confused - the Scottish man isn't there any more.
It's across the road from where the small flats are (used to be Stiff's the greengrocers) and the ladies hairdressers (used to be Graham's the butchers). Not far from the new houses on the junction of Cross Lane (used to be the Bowling Green).
And also in the same block as the ex-carpet shop (used to be a sort of furniture shop and then a bike shop)
-
Surely you mean it's next to Whittakers Fish Shop (which used to be the Marple Fish Shop :-)
-
And round the corner from where the little garden centre used to be at the first house on Bowden Lane.
Ah, memories!!
-
And close to where the mounting block for getting on your horse was!! (I think that is next to the garage now?)

I do all my own "scrips" (and stunts). I believe they will do cricket shirts and I also understand that they plan to become sponsors of The Marple Website very soon, which is fantastic!

On the triangle formed by Church Lane and Stockport Road. Stupid place to put it. Neither use nor ornament. (And before you say that no-one in living memory ever used it when it was outside the "Jolly", I can assure you that I've used it more than once for its original purpose)
-
Maybe it's a silly place to put it but we are quite lucky to have it at all. It was rescued by local residents who saw it about to be carted off by the demolition team in the back of their lorry. I suspect it would have been sold off at a reclamation yard somewhere. It was stored in my neighbours garage for a while until a suitable place near to its original site could be found. If I recall correctly it was done by community-minded people who are members and ex-members of this forum.
Where do you think it should be?

If it is moved then my dog will have no where to sit whilst she has a cuddle and a stoke every morning on her walk. She always climbs onto it and sits there waiting. :) When I was a kid you knew you were a big boy when you could jump down from the top of it without having to hold your parents hand.
