Title: Boris moves to Marple!
Post by: Dave on April 01, 2015, 07:58:18 AM
Members of this forum will be delighted to learn that following his recent visit to Marple, London Mayor Boris Johnson has decided that he wishes to live here.  He was so impressed with our town, and with its charming inhabitants, that he will shortly be relocating to a country residence on the slopes of Cobden Edge, with reaching views over Manchester and the Cheshire Plain.  He will be accompanied by his wife Marina and their four young children, Lara, Milo, Cassia and Theodore.

It is, of course, well known that Cobden Edge is named after Richard Cobden, the nineteenth-century manufacturer and Liberal MP.  Johnson has indicated that he would not wish to reside in a place which is associated with a non-Conservative politician, so with the agreement of Stockport MBC, Cobden Edge will now be known as Thatcher's Mount.
