Just walked the dog along the canal by Memorial Park saw John Sargent filming one of his narrow boat TV programmes. Can't keep Marple off the telly these days.

It's probably something we'll see more of over the coming years now that the Beeb has a significant production base in Salford.

Barging Round Britain Series 2 with John Sergeant starts on Friday, ITV 1 at 8:00pm.

I understand the first episode will feature the Peak Forest Canal and the work of Marple's Oldknow Legacy Project.
