Stockport Council will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing works on Marple Road, Offerton, from the BP Filling Station to Offerton Green. This work will be carried out by their Alliance Partner Tarmac Ltd. The work will be carried out between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm with the use of two-way temporary traffic signals.

The words are not mine, they are from Stockport Council. However, my own interpretation is that the lights will only be operational while they are working between those hours. It'll be a bit of a nightmare if they are on during peak times, so I hope I'm right!

They have added an update too that I think confirms this:

14th - 23rd September: Marple Road, Offerton

Contractors working on behalf of Stockport Council will be carrying out resurfacing works to the carriageway on Marple Road, Offerton from Bean Leach Road to Offerton Green.

The work will require temporary traffic signals between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Is this bit of road really so bad? I can think of several far worse around here

Probably because of the other works near Rose Hill station which did take place in the school holidays. I presume they wouldn't want two sets of work at the same time, although there might well have been time to fit in both jobs at different times during the holidays.

The large water burst on lower fold not repaired yet now five weeks since i and others reported this must be thousands of gallons a day going
down the grids /what grids are not blocked .
