Thanks for flagging that, Corium: I hadn't heard of it anywhere else. Maybe they will re-route the Marple trains round via Hyde after passing through Romiley.

realtimetrains.co.uk is showing all departures Rose Hill via Hyde with a connecting bus to Marple and New Mills. Looks like 4 trains per hours in the rush hour dropping down to 2 per hour off peak but continuing through the evening until midnight. Going to be busy.

That temporary service is hopeless! Surely there could be trains from Marple, New Mills and Sheffield running in to Piccadilly via Hyde. The last thing we need is our roads even more clogged up with buses shuttling between Rose Hill, Marple and New Mills!
I know some of our councillors now read this forum - maybe one of them could take it up with Northen Rail?

That temporary service just does not make sense unless they are ALSO doing work between Romiley and Marple.
Given having the buses will cost money; there must be a reason for it….. Unless realtimetrains.co.uk is wrong.
