Well .... I think I really really need to clarify a thing or two !
Firstly as the activities and events co coordinator I can 100% confirm that Brabyns does indeed run a full and varied entertainment program for all of its residents which is included in their residential fees and infact we often hold events that are open (and free! ) to all family and friends of our residents.
The truth is we are a very inclusive home and pride ourselves on our 'Brabyns family' ethos.
My request for local volunteer talent was not in any way a means of getting 'cheap' activities for the home but simply and honestly a way to perhaps extend the local connections the homes residents have with people who still live in the area in which many grew up and love.
As for comments on the staffs wages I think that most people are fully aware that care workers are very often on wages that do not reflect the level of hard work and commitment needed to undertake such roles.
To end.....I apologise if my request has offended anybody as stated I was really just trying to establish local links with people lucky enough to live within the area alot of our residents still love.
I would like to say I for one appreciate the hard work all the carers do 24 hours a day .
