I take it you've found this on the Virtual Tour then? http://visitmarple.co.uk/photos/displayimage.php?pos=-2865

Or used the search page to find pictures of the Goyt Mill? http://visitmarple.co.uk/photos/search.php

Fantastic what can I say.

My daughter (granddaughter of Roy and Vera Critchlow is doing their history and as they lived at Rhode houses in Hawk Green, before Marple, this is really good. Thankyou  :)

Tony's absolutely right, contact Hilary as there may be some interesting stuff in the archives. In addition, you could look out on ebay for a copy of "Historic Industries of Marple and Mellor". It was published in 1977 and again in 1989 but it is now out of print. I've seen several copies come up on ebay in the past. In the meantime, here are some rough scans to give you the basic info:

A good starting point would be to contact Hilary at the Local History Society. Her email address is on the local History Society webpage (link under the Forum notice board link). There may be some information in the archives.
