Hi,

I'm organising a bit of charity festival for circa 60-80 ppl in Marple on Saturday 9th April 2011, and am trying to find a couple of local bands to do a 45min-1hr slot each (ideally covers, but maybe one or two of their own songs)?

Does anyone play in a band / know someone who plays in a band / knows someone who's kids play in a band / etc...?

We do have a budget for the entertainment, but it's not massive - so it would suit local kids doing their first ever gigs (for experience, a bit of cash, and as much as they care to drink), or other people who aren't in it for the money.  It should be a very friendly crowd!

Cheers

What kind of music are you after and where would it be? I'm in a local Marple based 5 piece band that does cheesy rock covers (we love a good guitar solo so its Queen, Bryan Adams, etc) and have played in a few local pubs over the last year or so. I don't know if I can coral the rest of the band together for the 9th, but could ask if this is your type of thing?

I suggest you go to "Acoustic Soup" which is the Navigation tomorrow night (29th March at 8:30pm). Marple's musicians all hang out there and you will almost certainly find someone, particularly if you get the organisers (Jip and Dave) to announce it.
