Since Kelly's nightclub at Goyt Mill was closed down a few years ago, there has been no nightclub for miles around. Seeing as Marple (arguably) has more than its fair share of pubs, perhaps one of them could be converted?  ???
Marple needs a night club like I need a hole in the head!

Apart from anything else night clubs are closing down all over the area. This might suggest that there is little call for them.

Is Bredbury Hall still running its night club? you could always go there if you're suffering withdrawal symptoms. I'm told they do a good "grab a granny" night there.

quite a good idea as long as not on my doorstep is that what your saying .

all night bus service to manchester from stockport if you want clubs .we dont need them in this area .

Apart from Friday and saturday night, the last bus from Manchester to Stockport is at midnight.

I agree that a 5am closing time would lessen the associated problems of a nightclub in Marple. They could maybe convert the Bulls Head which already has a young crowd, or maybe convert that big hall in the middle of Brabyns Park which has no neighbours!

I think you have to leave that judgement to the customers. If the marple massive are tempted out of their citroen saxos and into the clubs we may just have ourselves a scene.

I have to say, it's not something I'd risk my money though.

Yea! how about the Co-op electrical shop on Stockport Rd, that would be a great,  venue
All these old fuddy duddies trying to stop the youngsters having fun!  Rock on I say! with Shan, Andrew and Martin!

That's quite a good idea, it would create quite a night-time economy with the restaurants, pictures etc. Pity there is no money in night-clubs now though.

I think with no 2a.m. chucking out time negates the disturbance issues. I lived above a night club in Reading which was no fun when there was a 2a.m. finish. They then went to a 5am finish and all the problems of getting cabs etc disappeared.

NO WAY! did u live near Kelly's nightclub? if you did you wouldn't be asking for another in Marple!

Couldn't agree more!! I remember the stories of people on Hibbert Lane having their gardens used as loos, and the drunken screaming and fighting at throwing out time.
