I suspect you may have some interested parties in the area. Within the last year I was walking past http://www.linnetclough.co.uk/  Linnet Clough Scout camp in Mellor and witnessed a group of adults in battle role play with swords and in full uniform!

Via the website, you could fire a message to see if they have any contact details on file.

New sword fighting study group?

Hi all,

I am looking to set up a sword fighting study group in the area. This would involve researching and studying 16th/17th century European sword fighting using historical manuscripts. Along with the studying and discussions, there will be practical elements to the group where we practise the techniques learnt.

The main area I want to look at is using sword and buckler but if people would be interested in other areas then just let me know. Here is a link to show you the kind of things we would be looking at http://www.aemma.org/onlineResources/marozzo_o/contents_body.htm

At this initial stage, I am just wanting to see if anyone would be interested in this group. If you have any questions then feel free to message me.

Thanks,

Cheryl
