What a beautiful place, we are very fortunate to live so close to such beautiful scenery. :D
Shhhh!  Don't tell everyone, Miss C - it's our little secret!   ;)

Wow, that's very impressive Dave! We had a great time today- what a brilliant event. Also gave us chance to explore parts of the area we didn't know existed. What a beautiful place, we are very fortunate to live so close to such beautiful scenery. :D

Most people tend to start between 9.30 and 10.30-ish.

...but at about 9.30 this morning the dog and I met someone who had run it already this morning.  (respect!)  8)

It's a really good day out and an excellent walk with good watering holes at regular intervals. I've done it regularly (although unfortunately not this year). Jump right it!

Thanks Dave. Does everyone start at 9.30 am  or at any point throughout the day?

If you look at the map on the Mellor March website (see link in Gaz's post), you'll see that there are loads of opportunities on the circular route to duck out and head directly back down to Mellor.  As the website itself puts it 'people can head for base at any point.'  Possible places to do this include the Moorfield, Five Lane Ends, and Castle Edge Farm.

I hear through school that there is a shorter family route - will find details.

Hello, we're relatively new to the area and have heard about the Mellor March. It's sounds like a great day out (weather permitting!) for a great cause. However, we have a preschooler who refuses to use a pushchair. Does anyone know if there is a shorter route that young families can follow? I'm not sure that a third of our family would manage the 10 miles round! Thanks?
