Everyone really needs to contact the police if they see any sus males in the area especially during darkness......A Neighbourhood Watch Scheme is the way forward but the police have new contact systems in place which prove really useful.
If you dont tell the police they cant help.
Contact your local neighbourhood office via GMP Website and they will come to speak to you.
We need to police our own areas to support GMP.

When my house was broken into the alarms were going off but that did not seem to bother the intruders, they searched every room in the house and left with a large amount of goods , with I might add the alarms still ringing as they left !

I would like to respond to Pink Panther's comments re security systems and alarms. Marplemason installed my alarm system in my new home and we are very pleased with his work. I would certainly recommend him to any inquirer

It might be worth setting up a Neighbourhood Watch Group in your area.

At least you'll be able to circulate news of suspicious activity quickly and easily to the members (and the local PCSO's who respond as soon as possible).  Of course, there's always 999 if it's an emergency and 101 for a non emergency.

Being in a NWG doesn't stop the suspicious activity but it makes members a little more safety/security conscious.

You've probably seen my posting in the 'Attempted break-ins, Woodville Drive area' topic regarding setting up a group and as mentioned - it's easy to manage.

So, not only would you have the 'excellent' Marple Website to circulate any info on but you would also have the support of the local police.

I caught two men in my rear garden at 1.30 Thursday "morning" (enclosed by 6ft fence with locked gates !!!), they ran off when they saw me. Thankfully the police caught them five minutes later on Stockport Road just down from Hilltop Drive - Well Done GMP.

I have been in the electronic security industry for 35 years and met all kinds of incidents but it really brings it home to you when its on your own door step.

Its amazing that since talking to neighbours they can all tell a tale of similar incidents around the area that only they know about so thanks to the Marple Forum I can at least warn other people as to whats going on so that they can at least be aware and double check there properties when going out or to bed.
