Received this via the Stockport Greenspace Forum and thought it was worth adding here

ADULT LEARNING AT CHEADLE AND MARPLE COLLEGES

There are a lot of gardening and horticulture courses on offer, and the Cheadle and Marple Adult Learning website gives details of their offerings. It is not very easy to find as it is quite new, so a link to it is given below.

There is an RHS Level 2 Certificate evening course at Marple College which covers how plants work, plant health, propagation (both seed and by cuttings) and soils, compost, sustainability etc. (titled Principles of Plant Growth, Propagation and Development).  A couple of trips are planned too - one to a compost manufacturer (Westlands) and the other to a large propagation nursery (covering both seed and vegetative propagation).

The course is about to commence but there is still time to join.  If you are interested the phone number for Admissions is 0161 484 6602.

There is lot to learn, and the students (of all ages) find the course interesting.  There is a social side too with ex-students still meeting up monthly for day trips several years after studying, for example, Trentham Gardens this week and Arabella Lennox-Boyd’s garden, Gresgarth Hall in June.
