Bumping this up again to bring to the attention of someone currently trying to register. If you use a yahoo / hotmail type email address that doesn't exist then your registration will be rejected.

That includes misspellings so take care!

Just bumping this up for all the new users who haven't validated their accounts or answered my direct email enquiries this week. Check your spam folders for your activation email or my request for info if you have used a google, hotmail or yahoo type email address to register. Unconfirmed registrations are deleted after 48 hours.

There are a couple of people who have registered recently but not activated their accounts who trying to log into the forum. You will not be able to log in until you have activated your account using the link in the email that has been sent to the address you registered with. If the address you registered with was genuine and you haven't had the activation email, check your spam folder.

If you're still having trouble, email me from that address and explain who you are and I will activate your account manually.

If you signed up with a hotmail, gmail or similar email account, please read earlier messages in this thread and reply to my email asking you for a response within 48 hours or your registration will be deleted.

There are quite a lot of new registrations sitting in the queue waiting to get approved so I'm bumping this topic up again. People registering with yahoo, hotmail and gmail type addresses particularly need to pay attention to this if they hope to be given user access to the forum.

There are a  lot of new members registering at the moment due to the interest in the likely sale of the Hibbert Lane College Campus site. Please note that new registrations are reviewed manually. When an application is approved you will be sent an activation email to the address you used to register (assuming it was genuine). You must respond to this to have your registration confirmed. If you don't seem to have received this email check your spam folder.

Users registering with hotmail, gmail and yahoo (etc) addresses may instead receive an email requesting that they explain their interest in Marple to me via a reply. This is because spammers regularly try to register using these type of addresses. If you get one of these requests, just tell me a little about yourself and your interests in Marple and I will approve your registration. You don't need to tell me you life story (some do) but just convince me that you have a genuine interest. You need to respond to the activation email or my request for a reply within 48 hours otherwise your registration will be deleted. You are welcome to try again if this happens.

I am told by one of our local councillors that a couple of people have phoned him because they are having problems registering on the forum. A very odd thing to do, much better to email me at mark@marple-uk.com if you are having trouble.

One of our new members posted a link to a porn site in the Tesco thread last night at around 9pm. It was removed a couple of hours later and the user has been banned. I apologise to anyone who followed this link during the couple of hours it was available. This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated and anyone doing similar (in any topic) will be banned with no discussion, no second chances.

If you spot any offensive or aggressive posts that you thing should be brought to my attention quickly then please use the facility to report a post. This is towards the bottom of the post and is a link that says "Report to moderator". This will send me an email message that may bring it to my attention earlier than otherwise might happen.

Just bumping this post up to the top again - there are 17 registrations currently queued waiting for users to activate their registrations by responding to the activation email. I have sent reminders to those that are more than 24 hours old. Once over 48 hours old they will be deleted.

Check your spam folders if you have not received an activation email and get in touch with me directly using mark@marple-uk.com if you are having problems.
