While my heart is still with "All Things Nice" I'm writing a review on the above cafe on Stockport Road, opposite the old post office .
The cafe has a board of specials and the cakes are homemade. Yesterday I had a good strong pot of tea, mashed avocado on granary toast and a HUGE slice of lovely sticky flapjack. On the basis of this experience I was forced to go back for a repeat performance - just in the interests of checking, you understand
.
I'm told the coffee is good too. And (nostalgia for me as I used to live in Bakewell) they have Bradwell's ice cream made by a small family business in Derbyshire - you'll never touch Walls ice "cream" again!
The staff are friendly and efficient without being pushy even at busy times.
They also offer a range of hand-made craft items, a small range of gifts, greeting cards with Marple themes, paintings and prints and they run crafting sessions.
Oh, yes, and they don't mind shopping trolleys and push-chairs.
