Marple Santa Dash [Sunday 3 December 2017]

A bit of an update from the organisers of the Marple Santa Dash, the main news being that you can now register / book on-line:

This year the 9th annual Romiley & Marple Lions Santa Run is taking place in aid of Kidneys for Life on Sunday 3rd December. It's a fun run for all the family starting at 12 noon from Marple Memorial Park. Santa Suits are included in your £10 registration fee as is a mince pie and a cup of tea Marple Garden Centre. Under 11's will receive a present from Santa and everyone wearing a Santa Suit will get a free ride on the miniature railway. Transport is provided back to the Memorial Park.

It will be a great way to start the family Christmas festivities!

Registration is open for this year's Santa Dash, to be held on Sunday 3 December.

The organisers have teamed up with Kidneys for Life and sponsorship forms are available if you would like to fundraise for this worthy cause. Please note though, obtaining sponsorship is NOT a requirement and there is NO minimum amount for sponsorship money raised. As usual, the registration fee of £10 will cover the costs of the day and enable the Lions to continue their work in the community. Terry Harding from the Lions would like to put on record his personal thanks to all those people who continue to support the Lions year after year, not least the Dashers themselves!

Dashers under the age of 11 are rewarded with a ride on the Dragon Miniature Railway at the Marple Garden Centre, where Marple Band will also be playing Christmas music. Smiths of Marple will then very kindly provide transport back to Marple for if needed.

In the run up to Christmas, Dragon Miniature Railway and Marple Garden Centre will be hosting Father Christmas, who will be arriving at 11am on Saturday 25 November. The Grotto will be open every weekend and during the week immediately before Christmas. Bookings for breakfast and tea with Father Christmas in the restaurant during December are already being taken.

Why not go along and join the fun? Even if you don't take part in the run itself, there's sure to be something to make you smile!
