Routes for Santa's Sleigh in Marple

The Rotary Club has provided some extra information about the routes that Santa's Sleigh follows during its visits to Marple. For the "Marple, Woodville Drive and Cross Lane" route, this is included for info only as the visit occurred on Tuesday 4th December. Although it is not possible to set a specific time when they will be at a certain point, this extra info should help people to make a better judgement of when Santa may be near their homes.

Marple, Woodville Drive and Cross Lane (Tuesday 4th)

Started at 5.30pm at the junction of Stockport road and Cross Lane. Down to Eastwood Drive, Northwood Close, Edwards Way, Leigh Avenue, Church Lane, couldn’t get down Hibbert Lane as closed but went via Waterside to join Hibbert Lane further down, length of Woodville Drive, Wood Lane finishing at the junction of Wood Lane, Cross Lane and Buxton Lane (finished just before 9pm).

Marple, Rose Hill, junction of Dale Rd and Stockport Rd (Monday 10th)

Starts at 5.30pm at the junction of Dale Road and Stockport. Down Dale Road, The Turnpike, Marsland Road, Walton Drive, Churchill Crescent, The Turnpike, Marple Hall Drive, Marina Drive, Claremont Avenue, Isherwood Drive. Expected finish, approximately 8.30pm.

Marple, Ley Hey, junction of Station Rd. and Ley Hey Road (Wednesday 12th)

Starts at 5.30pm at the junction of Station Road and Ley Hey Road. Down Ley Hey Road, Ley Hey Avenue, Grosvenor Road, Winnington Road, Jessop Drive, Beacon View, Cranford Gardens, Winnington Road, Bradshaw Road, Oakdene Road. Expected finish, approximately 8.30pm.

Rotary Club Santa's Sleigh Collections in Marple

As many local residents will already be aware, The New Mills, Marple and District Rotary Club have for many years used a Santa Sleigh to tour the district at Christmas collecting money of charity.

2017 saw the first outing of our new sleigh, a popular attraction for local children.

Any local organisation or individual would be very welcome to help us. Your commitment need not be onerous, just one evening during December collecting would really help... several would be even better! • Tuesday 4th December - Marple, Cross Lane and Woodville Drive 5.30pm
• Saturday 8th December - Collection ASDA, Marple 1pm to 7pm
• Monday 10th December - Marple, Rose Hill, junction of Dale Rd and Stockport Rd, 5.30pm
• Wednesday 12th December Marple, Ley Hey, junction of Station Rd. and Ley Hey Road, 5.30pm
• Friday 14th December - Collection ASDA, Marple 9.30am to 3.30pm
• Saturday 15th December - Collection ASDA, Marple 1pm to 7pm
