The next Repair Cafe will be on Saturday 16th November 10-12pm at the Senior Citizens Hall.

Everyone is welcome to come along, even if you don't have anything that needs fixing.

If you are able to volunteer your time in any capacity, whether that be as a repairer, on reception, baking cakes to sell or serving tea and coffee to our repairers, please email repaircafemarple@gmail.com and myself or Dawn will get in touch.

Today's first Repair Cafe event was a huge success.  13 items were successfully repaired including a Christmas village, Singer sewing machine, a clock, a pair of trousers, several pairs of secateurs and a wicker basket.  Thank you so much to everyone who has supported the project so far.  We have a planning meeting/debrief this Friday at 11am at Queens Court if anyone wants to come along.  Hopefully we will be holding Repair Cafe events every month.  If you would like further information or would like to be added to the mailing list, please contact me or Dawn at repaircafemarple@gmail.com.  You can also follow us on Facebook or Twitter. We have volunteers who can fix bikes, clothes, small electrical appliances and other household items.

There will also be a bake sale to raise funds for the next event.

Thanks very much to everyone who has supported this project so far.

I am pleased to say that the first Repair Cafe event in Marple will be held on Saturday 19th October at the Senior Citizens Hall, 10am-12pm.

Like most new community projects, we are in need of funding.  Donations can be made via the following link:

Volunteers are needed for the repair and recycle events which I hope will start in Marple very soon.  We need volunteers who can greet people and make tea, as well as people who can fix things.  Please complete the following form if you can help in anyway, and see Marple Repair and Recycle Facebook page for further information:

We had a planning meeting at The Garden House this morning to discuss how we might get a regular repair event off the ground in Marple.  The following Facebook page has been set up where regular updates will be posted, so please like and follow it if you are interested in being part of this in anyway:
