Unfortunately Jay I live opposite the station. Every night there is a big gang of teenagers on there and are very noisy, even when the lights go out they still sit there!
A few years ago the place was getting smashed to bits and my husband phoned the police to report it. Guess what they're response was?  It's nothing to do with us, you need to phone the British transport police! They are based in Manchester and by the time they got here all the youths had gone and was probably all tucked up in bed!
It is a shame because like you say it is possible that the line could be discontinued. Lets hope it doesn't happen!  '>

For the past few months I have been catching the train in to Manchester in the mornings and I was just wondering what is going on at Rose Hill station. I've noticed there have been several attempts at repainting the station and it being boarded up because it is getting vandalised all the time, even the boarding is being ripped off so that it can be vandalised some more. Most mornings there are beer cans and bottles littering the tracks and the station not to mention the other things lying around. Don't the people doing this realise they are spoiling this facility for everyone who wishes to use it, would they want their back yards looking like this every morning? Anyone any ideas what can be done to combat this? As you travel down the line in to Manchester you see this and worse at almost every station. I assume soon they will discontinue this service and in time it will become a continuation of the abandoned line.
