The Lions have advised that the socially distanced cycle event has now been cancelled following announcement of Lockdown 2.

The Marple Santa Dash 2020 has been postponed

Read the full story here: https://www.marple.website/community-projects/marple-santa-dash-2020.html

The article also includes provisional plans for Santa Zooming and the Grotto at the Dragon Miniature Railway this Christmas.

Kidneys for Life Socially Distanced Santa Cycle (29 November 2020)

But you can't keep a good Lion down and the Romiley and Marple Lions Club are involved in this event:

A group of enthusiastic cyclists are hoping to raise funds for Kidneys for Life (the Lions' Santa Dash partners) and KFL's Victoria Thomson suggested to them that a "Santa Cycle" would, under the circumstances, be an appropriate event to organise.

The Lions will be supplying the Santa Suits and hoping to make a reasonable profit for the Club.

The numbers will be limited to 100 (over the age of 16) and the route will be around Marton (in the Macclesfield / Congleton area of Cheshire). The registration fee is £25, which includes Santa suit and a breakfast butty with tea of coffee at the end of your ride.

Full details of the 29 November event can be found on the KFL website.

Even though this event isn't in our area, Romiley and Marple Lions are involved and the money raised from the sale of the Santa Suits will boost their Charity Account and help them to continue their work in the local community.
