Father Christmas Grotto: Friday 16th (5pm - 7pm), Saturday 17th (10am - 4pm) and Sunday 18th (10am to 6pm)



Here's the latest update from MarpleFest organisers:

Father Christmas is so excited to be visiting Marple this weekend. Starting Friday evening at 5 - 7 pm, Saturday from 10 - 4 and Sunday on the main Marple Festive event day from 10 - 6 pm.

Where? Behind The Locks on Derby way, enter from the rear by the car park.

Have I got a time slot? No, you are booked in for the day you specified on your ticket. Please stick to the date specified and come along when you are ready. Dates are not transferable.

Weather Father Christmas has been doing this for a few hundred years and he has not been put off by a bit of wind rain or indeed wintery showers. There will be no cancellation for weather.

Father Christmas has taken every effort possible to look after all. Feel free park near the Locks (legally and if you have a car!) and pop over in time to reduce queuing. That said we have a plan to cover any queue that should develop.

MarpleFestive Remember to visit the businesses in central Marple before or after you have seen Father Christmas. Keep an ear out for carol singers...On Saturday there is the last Make It Marple Christmas Market (There will be a brass band too) they are not associated with Marple Fest, but drop in and support them.

Our main event is on Sunday from 12:00 to 9:00 with live music, stalls, food and much more.

IMPORTANT Save the environment, please do not print out your tickets. We know you are coming and the names of your young humans.

"Roll Up Roll Up, Father Christmas is coming to town and he's bringing some very special friends to help the team from MARPLEFEST out. This time we have an extensive line up of artists, stalls and faire to complement the stunning array of local business we have in Marple. Make it a Festive Day out in Marple and we are making it all about you and and your family. Running from 12 pm to 9 pm. Treat your children to a trip to Father Christmas Grotto, be amazed by our tamed magician, swirl the cream around and snuggle up with an artisan hot chocolate, maybe pop a little something in there to make you even cosier inside...
We promise to have something for everyone and reduce the impact on our loyal local residents but maximise the support we can muster for our fabulous local shops and businesses in this important time before Christmas. #MarpleFESTive Family Day is just what you need before Christmas another free event in the heart of Marple.

This is truly going to be the Marple you need just before Christmas, make those special memories, we have it lined up for you. Sing along, smile, giggle and dance. Join in with a carol, relive your younger days and enjoy a toffee apple and perhaps help someone younger make memories for a lifetime. Complete with candy canes and Chocolate bears and did we mention some amazing live acts to give this all an extra pizazz?

As ever this is a FREE EVENT but we are asking for suggested donations to support operations, insurance and to add to our decorations fund. Plus we have Reindeer food to fund."
