Bee and Butterfly Festival at Marple United Reformed ChurchSaturday 12th August 2023 between 10:30-16:00.The United Reformed Church East Cheshire & Derbyshire Borders Missional Partnership Ecological Awareness Team (P.E.A.T.) would like to invite everyone to our first ever Bee and Butterfly Festival being held at Marple United Reformed Church, Hibbert Lane, Marple, Stockport, SK6 7NN on 12th August 2023 between 10:30-16:00.
It is designed to be not only a great day out, but to raise awareness of the plight of many of our country’s wildlife which is sadly in decline. There is to be a slide show going on in the background showing facts about the declines as well as some showing what a diverse and beautiful country, we live in.
All our stalls are ecologically minded. We have beekeepers, some representatives from the local naturalist’s group available to talk to visitors about the importance of our bees, butterflies and this beautiful world that surrounds us. Representatives from The New Mills Brass Band are also joining us with some interesting instruments for anyone to try at. We will have some great raffle prizes on offer sponsored by local businesses.
Plenty to see and do for all ages from 2’s to 92’s and beyond, wooden bird houses to build, stencils, wooden butterflies to paint, stickers, lots of children’s games and much more. We’ve covered something for everyone and what would a church festival be without our teas, coffees, and cakes on offer? we have covered cakes for the gluten free amongst us, so there are no excuses to not come and enjoy yourselves. Our team shall be happy to help with your requirements. So please do come and support our Bee & Butterfly Festival.
