There's a good chance it was All Saints. The registers can be viewed on micro-fishe (is that how you spell it?) at Stockport Library, along with many others. You usually need to book a viewer.

I believe that St Thomas' wasn't consecrated until the 1860's. Where would births, marriages and deaths been registered before this. My relative was born around 1817, where would they have baptised him? Any help gratefully received.
