Erm OK!  I was actually wondering if the Marina itself was responsible for the hoses not the council!
When you go to a caravan site there are Fire hoses at points around a campsite am I right? Please correct me if I'm wrong!  '>  
Boat owners pay mooring fee's as a caravan owner pays site fee's. Both should therefore have the same safety procedures in place?  '>

Why should a Canal Marina be any different than a street with houses on? There are no fire hoses in my street, if people who own boats/barges etc want fire hoses then let them pay for them. Why should I have to pay for hoses out of my Council Tax?

Hi  can anyone tell me what the safety requirements are on a Canal Marina where there are residents? EG.... Fire hoses , extinguishers, safety points should there be a fire. etc....
My reason for asking is after the terrible fire at Macclesfield the other week where a young lady died on a narrow boat I am concerned about the fact there are no fire hoses there on the marina itself. All the residents were given a smoke alarm by the fire service, but is not quite enough. All the boats have their own extinguishers on board as a requirement.
I have done a Internet search to find out about what is needed by law but not getting the information. Anyone out there able to help?  '>
