Here's a copy of the May issue of the Marple Primary Schools Transition Newsletter:

www.marple-uk.com/misc/TransitionNewsletterMay2009.pdf

It highlights several ways you can get involved:

Parents' Induction - The Dale Primary School - Monday 15 June 2009 from 6.30pm for September Reception Class intake.

Induction Day for Pupils - When pupils prepare to go to secondary school induction days are held so that they can visit their new class room and meet new class mates. A similar event will be held on Thursday 2nd July 2009.

Rose Hill Primary School Summer Fair - Friday 10th July 2009 - 5.00 pm to 7.30 pm. All parents and carers are invited to attend!

7 to 11 September (first week of September Term) Old School Uniform Hand-in.

In January 2009, the Stockport Council Executive agreed proposals to expand Rose Hill Primary School and add provision for pupils with SEN and to close The Dale and Peacefield Primary Schools.

The Council is now working with the schools to put arrangements in place to enable a smooth transition for pupils, staff and parents/carers. A Transition Working Party (TWP) has been established which meets regularly to discuss the issues which matter most to parents. The TWP produces a regular newsletter to feedback on the issues discussed, which they have asked us to include on the Marple Website.
