It was the CO-OP back in November, it had a cloning device fitted. It's gone now though.

A friend of mine has contacted me today to tell me that her bank account has been emptied over the last four days and she has been the victim of identity theft. This is without her card being stolen btw. She has been advised by the bank that there have been other cases in Marple and to be vigilant when using her card.

Why do people say "Enter your PIN number"?

This translates to "Enter your Personal Identification Number number".

It's like DAT tape.

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM
machine, you can notify the police by entering your PIN # in reverse.
For example, if your pin number is 1234, then you would put in 4321. The ATM system
recognizes that your PIN number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the
machine.
The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to
the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to the location. This
information was recently broadcasted on CTV by Crime Stoppers however it is seldom used because
people just don't know about it.
