I posted a question in the Miscellaneous forum about Brick Bridge cottage. Perhaps I should have posted it here as it was concerning the name and origin of Brick Bridge Cottage which I had come across through the virtual tour pictures.
Anyway, I have recieved an answer from outside the Marple forum which may be of interest to anyone else that didn't know.
With regard to the Brick Bridge lodge, it once belonged to Samuel Oldknow because it was formerly the lodge of Chapel Farm, which was owned by Samuel Oldknow.  However, another name I have come across for it is Rose Lea Cottage but I am uncertain about the origin of this name.
It has also been refered to as Churchgate Lodge on OS maps.
