Roy rang me, and was going to visit our house tonight  ...BUT in the meantime we have had someone out, and have agreed a price , and its getting done tomorrow  ... hoorah !!

Also we were quoted £200 pounds less than someone local  .. and he came on reccomendation  from my friend who is a decorater and uses him all the time,  .. so fingers crossed, if he does a good job, then I shall advertise on here  , said he would be here at 11.am to quote, he  arrived bang on time  and he came from Heald green , phoned  with prices on the same day  .. lets hope its not to good to be true !!

Seems to me fair enough, you got recommendations on here, tried a few and got a better deal from another source..just because a person asks on here for a recommendation does that mean you HAVE to use that person? Not if you get a better deal else where. Well done Pink Panther, glad the work has been done to your satisfaction.

Now I need to find someone who has a chainsaw and half an hour to spare, and reasonable rates! any recommendations?? :p

Hi Amazon,

I'm glad to say that my work was completed today, and I have had a message that my patio doors are probably going to be started next week :):) .

Is Roy Marsden a friend of yours ? well, I'm a bit plumber ed out as you can imagine when it comes to talking to plumbers but I do have to say that Roy did ring me twice, trying to make a time to come and see me after my initial message on his answer phone, but both times I had evening commitments with my children  ... so if you do see him, can you pass on that I did appreciate it :)
No Roy is not a Friend of mine i just know that he is a dam good plumber . just a bit annoyed you ask people to recommend a plumber then get your own .And how was the work you had done .

You seemed a bit miffed when someone else recommended a plumber also ,

And before you start on me,  for personal reasons that I don't need to discuss with you why I wont say who these plumbers are  ... I was recommended to two plumbers from this website , one a number I got from this web  site, and another was from a previous posting  by someone else on this website ... BOTH let me down,  and one of them more than once .  Yours was the THIRD from this website that I had tried

ALSO ... I have had five electricians,  and the same amount of plumbers wasting my time  to try and get a relatively small job done ,  if I choose to go with someone who was not recommended by you , then that is my choice .... end of !

And for those who use this website to recommend business's ,  and to those who gave me advice on line and off line, I really do  appreciate it and they know it .

I'm trying to get a job done quickly, but without being ripped off, over charged and without my time being wasted .

P.s  My job was done great  ( thank you for your concern !!!   ) .... and next time you need Roy for your next  plumbing job, maybe take a few minutes to find out the exact conversation that  my husband had  with him before you jump to conclusions about ME  ... and that conversation I don't need to post on here either  :(  ... but I shall keep his number  , but do him a favour, do not  cause unnecessary rucks with me ( that is how it appears to me and others I know who have read it ) , when you do not know the full story  ,  it makes you look foolish, and will put people off recommending people  and also using the recommendations given .

I have given the name of the plumber I used , if people need someone they can phone him, its between them and him if they do business, I wont be getting upset by it if they dont :(

I hope thats understood   >:(

Mmmmm, a tad harsh to my reading. Requested a recommendation, got 3 (2 from this site, a third elsewhere). Went with one of the three but not Roy. Then tried to pass a message of appreciation to Roy for his persistence and then got a (mild) scalding.

Oh well, onwards and upwards......

RH.
