When referring to the Walks Around Marple on the web site don't forget to take a look at the addendum giving the latest updates on the routes. See www.marple-uk.com/walks/addendum.pdf

When this was produced David Burridge (the author of the corrections) felt that walk 6 was almost no longer worth including, but we did decide to include it for completeness.

Any feedback on the walks is most welcome.

There would be something on the Stockport council website if the footpath had been stopped up, but stockport ROW office are not known for their communication skills. The footpath  was certainly still open a couple of months ago when Mrs NBT and I walked it.

According to the "Donkey Wood" walk featured on this website, there is a footpath that leads from the bottom of Thostle Grove though Higher Dan Bank Farm and comes out near the bottom of Dan Bank. However in reality, the entrance to this footpath (the bridge on Thostle Grove) has been completely blocked off with rubble and the other entrance to the field (off Middlewood Way behind the tip) has also been blocked off. Has the footpath actually been removed or is there still a legal right of way?  ???
