Hi - not very good at this but here are a couple of ideas

have a stall at the next marple carnival car boot sale - you could ask friends and family to donate items and have a good clear out yourself

See if your employer has any sponsorship schemes - mine has a 'pound for pound' scheme where they will match whatever you raise. Even if they don'y have an official scheme for a good ause you can often get the bigwigs to cough up some cash (particularly if you choose your moment)

And the obvious one, sponsorship. When my brother ran the marathon last year I was amazed how generous people were who had never even met him - it was a good cause and they wanted to contribute.

Oh and one tip I got from him for the race day - get someone to put your name on your running shirt - spectators will shout your name out as you go round and it gives you a real boost.
having watched the marathon for the first time last year I can recommend it as a day out - it is a great atmosphere, even if you don't know any of the runners.

Hopefully i will be taking part in the London marathon this coming April.I've recieved a few application forms from charities who i could run for.They want to know about my fund raising plan and what figure i could raise,the figure they have mentioned is around £1,500.
  That figure does'nt sound unreasonable for a good cause all i need is some good ideas for my fund raising plan? before i send the applications back.
Any ideas?
