Very sorry to hear about your troubles and I hope that they recover soon.

My neice only did as well as she did because her friends knew that she could not be drunk as she had not been there long and she is the one who normaly looks after them, so they got her to hospital quick.

Thats two pubs that are now out of bounds for us anyway.

We will hear about more im sure.

Hi, regarding the pub that I was in and found the tablets in..let just say...******************. Any pub that will allow drinking after hours just to get the money in shows that the landlord has nothing on his or her mind but money and profit. I have two cousins who both has seriuos side effects from havin there drinks spiked. One ended up in casualty after being found slumped against a wall outside, the other had problems for six months after.

After careful consideration I've decided that the content of this anonymous posting is potentially libellous. I have therefore removed the reference indicating the name of the pub. I'm sorry that this was necessary but I am responsible for maintaining this forum and have to make a judgement as to what is acceptable and what is not. Mark Whittaker 23/1/04

The person who put the post in about the pub in marple.

I wish you had named it as all my children and neice all live and drink in marple and while I am not pushing you to do this it's like you said if the landlords don't give a toss about this sort of thing, then we have too I am not one to go looking for trouble and I do not cause it but this sort of thing has got to be delt with as it is dangerous. We just cant all walk around with blinkers on.

This is the best place for us all to warn each other about things like this.

It is a shame that this sort of thing has happened and it really drives the issue home when it is almost on your door step.

I have 4 children, all well below the drinking age,  but this is an experience I will share with them when they reach the relevant age,  my warnings would also be that the people that do spike drinks will frequent more that one drinking place trawling for a victim.

I am pleased that the young lady is going forward from this which displays a good strength in character. Thankyou for raising the awareness and sharing your experience for the benefit of others.

Hi, just to let you know that I was in another pub in Marple. And found some small white tabs on the floor, Two of them,There had beed a group of spaced out teenagers sitting there before hand, When I picked the tabs up and gave it to the bar man.. He just tasted one, laughed and threw them in the bin. I know they were not mints. I dont go into that bar anymore. If the landlord cant give a toss about his customers then I cant give a toss about the landlord. He does not warrant my custom.

Well done "useful", lets say how it is, "name and shame".

As long as it's TRUE and accurate there is no problem.

There was a time when the community used to sort these things out themselves, there's nothing to fear, if bad things happen in such places, don't go there, the landlord will then do something.

Hope your neice makes a full recovery.

My 20 year old neice went for a night out with her friends on saturday night 17th Jan 04 to the ROMILEY ARMS she was playing pool and her drink was SPIKED. She later had a drink and not long after Passed out. Her friends reported this to the LANDLORD and He JUST SMILED and walked away. My Neice spent the rest of the night in hospital and is still not well but is now home and safe. NO THANKS TO THE ROMILEY ARMS LANDLORD. JUST THOUGHT YOU SHOULD ALL KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE ROMILEY ARMES.
