Pony trekking / Riding school?

A bunch of us were chatting in the pub the other night and it became evident that we'd all considered the idea of horse riding, so I volunteered to find somewhere we could go. Can anyone recommend anywhere in the Marple area that would offer hacking / trekking to a group of adults? One or two of us might have prior experience (e.g. my wife owned her own pony at one point) but for many of us the closest we've come to riding will be the donkeys on Blackpool beach :)
