£1,000 FM Award from Forever Manchester for Friends of Marple Memorial ParkFM Awards, a new awards programme from Forever Manchester, is about hearing all the good stuff that’s happening in a neighbourhood and how a group connects with and improves the local community. The application process is quick and simple and they don't ask for statistics or how deprived or disadvantaged the beneficiaries are. They don't even want to know specific details of how the money will be spent!
This sounded right-up-our-street, so Friends of Marple Memorial Park made an application at the end of October by singing our own praises about our project successes since we were formed in 2003. We asked other local groups to help us by providing their supportive comments too and in just 24 hours we had a fantastic response that helped us to win £1,000 in the end of November awards!
We recommend that other local groups look at the FM Awards scheme too - as Forever Manchester say "Great things happen in and around Greater Manchester on a daily basis and we want to shout about it!" So give them a call.
