I hear on the grapevine that it was purchased by the company in the white build just behind it - that building is currently rented and the company are moving into The Pineapple

Yup, this is right - see planning application here - http://planning.stockport.gov.uk/PlanningData/AcolNetCGI.gov?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPNAME=Root.PgeResultDetail&TheSystemkey=122206

Applicant is a bloke I know who works there - James McLellan. It's a shame it isn't going to be a business which will increase footfall to that part of Marple, but never mind....

Couldn't find any application for change of use. Whatever it is I hope it's an improvement on the Pineapple. It's been a bit of a dive for most of my lifetime. When I was young it was on the list of pubs that I wasn't allowed to go into. Father never explained why.

Ouch!  That's a bit harsh. I've never been in the Pineapple of an evening, but I probably used the small room on the right side around a dozen times when it was open for an afternoon pint. That said, I do recall a bit of foul language coming out of the games room on a couple of occasions!!

I noticed that there were decorators inside the former pub today. Does anyone know what's being planned for the building?
