OK, but as South Seven isn't a pub, let me rephrase the question: is this the most expensive pint of ordinary draught bitter in a pub in the area?

Dropped by at the Norfolk yesterday - first time for ages. It was quite quiet. I ordered a pint of bitter, and was astonished to find it was £4!  It was very nice beer - but blimey, 4 quid for a pint in Marple!! No wonder it was quiet!   Is this the most expensive beer in the area?

Nope.

The sandwiches and burgers are made with home made bread and I think there is only one menu that is available all day.  Others there had the Sunday roast which at just under £9 looked an enormous serving.  It's not what I would describe as simple but it is good value.

Looks like they do simple bar food (at lunchtimes anyway) which will suit me fine.

I have been there three times recently with the last visit yesterday lunchtime. Our party of five ordered two sandwiches, a beef burger, a veggie burger and the steak and ale pie.  There were no complaints whatsoever.  The food and service was excellent as were the surroundings.

What sort of food do they do at the 'Norfolk' and what sort of prices?

A 'comfy menu' means nothing to me.

Had a couple of meals there recently. It's good value, a comfy menu and everything is well done.

The place itself had really come on and a nice atmosphere.

Thankfully, the NIBYism seems to have subsided.

I'd like to echo this - we have started making nearly a weekly visit to the Norfolk over the last few months - love the atmosphere, the beer and the food isn't bad too.
