Beautiful weather for a task day in the park but unfortunately yesterday was somewhat marred for our volunteers.

Read more about it here: http://www.marplememorialpark.org.uk/task-days/task-days-in-2018.html

The next scheduled Task Day is Saturday 28 April and we'd be delighted if you can come along for however long you can between 10 am and 2 pm.

Stout footwear and suitable clothing should be worn and bring your own gardening gloves and small hand tools if you have them. Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

It was great to get back into the park today for our first task day of 2018! As well as planting another 1,000 bulbs (donated by Open Gardens in Marple - who won them from Parker's) we rescued the Poppy Rocks painted by local children during last year's Remembrance period and put them back on display.

Unfortunately we had to cancel both November and December Task Days due to the weather but someone was certainly busy in the park in November!

We've planted almost 15,000 new bulbs in the park since September now, and also had a good tidy up of the main flowerbeds and memorial beds on Saturday to ensure the park looked its best for the Remembrance Day Service on Sunday.

For one reason or another I haven't been in the park much recently, but today I walked through and thought it looked beautiful.  Thank you all for all your hard work.

Thank you @Barbara

On Saturday we started early and finished early without a tea break and then headed off to the Food and Drink Festival for lunch!
