A new album has been added to the Tour this evening showing the handover of the section of Iron-Age Ditch at Mellor Old Vicarage at the end of September, taken by Arthur Procter:

When Marple council decided that Captain was not needed any more they sold him to Oldfield & Braddock's at Chapel House Farm c1952 I walked with him and Len Oldfield from Rose Hill Council yard to Chapel house Farm.

The Virtual Tour has been updated this evening with a selection of photos taken by the late Gordon Mills between 1957 and the early 1960s. These have been passed to Marple Local History Society by Gordon's widow, Barbara. There is also one from Ray Noble of Captain Marvel!
