Another of the Marple Local History Society videos featuring local people talking about their memories has been uploaded to the Virtual Tour. This one is of Trixie Gough, who was born in 1914 and lived in the cottages next to the Jolly Sailor. She is talking to Gordon Mills in 2004 as he filmed her.

The 37 minute long VHS video has been converted to digital format and uploaded in four segments to make it easier for visitors to view without having to start at the beginning every time.

Another of the Marple Local History Society videos featuring local people talking about their memories has been uploaded to the Virtual Tour. This one is of Fred Winterbottom, who was born on Union Road in 1907, talking in 1996 to Gordon Mills as he filmed him.

The hour long VHS video has been converted to digital format and uploaded in six segments to make it easier for visitors to view without having to start at the beginning every time.

A number of photos provided by Tom Lord of his family (Hall and Kirk) who lived at Stone Row, Townley Terrace, Brindley Avenue and Suttons Lane have been added to the Virtual Tour this morning. I'd like to commend Tom for putting as much information as he could on the back of his photos for future generations - everyone should do this!

A new album has been created on the Virtual Tour this morning to hold photos of Ludworth School. This is due to the addition of a large number of new images from Marple Local History Society's Archives mainly relating to headmaster Mr Harold Butterworth's reign between 1912 and (based on the pictures) the early 1930s. All images relating to Ludworth School in a variety of other albums have hopefully been tracked down and moved to this album too.

If anyone can add names to faces or firm up dates, most of which I've judged based on the extent of Mr Butterworth's hair loss, then please get in touch.

A new category and album have been added to the Tour this evening covering mystery photographs. The Mystery People album has been moved to this category along with a new album featuring Mystery Locations. This has been added so that we can display a box of glass slides from Marple Local History Society's Archives that may be local and maybe not. It may help us to figure out why they're in the archives if anyone recognises any scenes.

There is one that I think could be down at Dan Bank - I'm hoping our local expert on turnpikes and bridges, Tony Jones, will have a view. And if anyone recognises the rhinoceros I'd love to know!
