I think most of the people who attended the bonfire were more interseted in getting home as quickly as possible to avoid further drenching from the monsoon that struck 2 minutes from the end of the firework display. I've not seen rain like that for a while!!!

The road down Brabyns Brow quickly took on the proportions of a raging torrent...

If the scouts and guides went to so much trouble to organise the bonfire then surely it is only fair that the people who attended it and enjoyed it did some of the cleaning up. Instead of passing these strewn signs by, pick them up and put them in a bin!

The leaders of Marple Scouts & Guides deserve applause for organizing the bonfire at Brabyns Park last saturday but it would have been appreciated if the leaders had set an example to the troop by removing all the boards which they have attached to lampposts etc, some of which are now strewn around Marple Bridge.  It would be nice to see the scouts removing litter rather than adding to it.
