We had a thoroughly enjoyable time last night at the bonfire. We did wonder why the fireworks had started and then stopped but then wondered if it had started too early. It would be a shame if there was no display next year due to of lack of funding...we were more than happy to give £2 towards the costs and it is definitely worth every penny.

Well done to everyone who worked so hard to make it such a great occasion for the community! :)

I'm sorry you where misled last night but the pyrotechnics people started the display to soon and was asked to stop in case people who were getting there for 7.30 (the display time) would miss out. As for the money, due to low donations, after everyone is payed out there probably won't be much for this years chosen charity and we start each years bonfire with no money at all in the pot, we are not a fund raising association this is something we inherited by default. Hope this clears up your missunder standing.

If the money raised from last nights bonfire and fireworks display goes to local charities like badger says in the first post, then why did the lady come around and say that the fireworks had stopped half way though,  until she had raised enough money to pay for them. I was under the impression that the money raised pays for next years fireworks.

If it starts at 6.30pm like it says below then probably 7pm for the fireworks, latest 7.30pm.

I would imagine most people who are going are getting ready to leave so you may not get another answer before the event! The organisers were probably too busy to see your enquiry this afternoon.

Sorry, but the Bonfire Committee don't have any transport either and rely on people bringing wood,(only clean wood is aloud these days) not conifers or green wood that give of smoke. We have a supply of merchants who kindly donate and deliver most of the material for us. :(

I've got some wood for a bonfire too, should anyone want it. It also will have to be collected as won't fit into my car as I haven't the tool too chop it up into smaller pieces.  At least, yet...maybe if it has to wait until the nearer night it will be, if someone will let me know either way.

Is there anyone collecting wood for the bonfire? I have a couple of old wooden furniture I could donate, but don't have transport to drop off.

For 'one night only' a Spectacular Bonfire & Firework Display on Hawk Green with Fairground Rides, BBQ Mobile Coffee Bar, and not forgetting the pub Wednesday Nov 5th: 6.30 onwards. All monies raised go to local charities.
