Freemasonry in Marple- The Doric Lodge.

Gentlemen.

You will find a mention of the Doric Lodge in Marple on the Marple website. It's member are mostly from the Marple Community. but not restricted to such.

The lodge welcomes inquiries for membership from applicants over the age of 21 and who are of good character and have a genuine desire to be of service to mankind and the community in which we live.

Freemasons are prohibited from discussing religion or politics at there gatherings, it is not a religious organisation and has members from many faith groups, including Muslim and Roman Catholic but atheist are excluded from membership.

The Doric Lodge has met in Marple for over 100 years and currently has a membership of 43 and increasing.

The Lodge meets on the third Thursday of every winter month

I have read the article in the Marple website about the Doric Lodge and was wondering if anyone has any old history books about the Lodge. I have seen a couple of articles on the net. but nothing about it's actual history over the years.

I am collating information about some local organisations and I would appreciate a copy of any old documents-or the loan of.
