Fame at last for me, running along Gun rd Mellor, just past the farm.
I remember seeing the car go past us and commenting if we were being filmed.

It was an early Sunday morning run last June.

Howard's right, some definite stitching together of images from different times going on.

If you use streetview to walk down Lower Fold to where it meets Town Street, you see sunny weather and some extensive road works (SMBC were resurfacing the road at the time).

But you approach from Town Street, the road works aren't present, cloudy weather appears, the shadows under street signs vanish and the covers over the traffic lights, due to the road works, suddenly disappear.

Steve.

Yes, another example is up at Five Lane Ends (top of Mellor).  They went up there on a glorious summer's day, blue sky, fluffy white clouds etc.  But when they turned right along the rough track towards new Mills Golf Club, it was suddenly pouring with rain!  (Of course, that's New Mills for you    ;)

These seem to have been taken at various time of day (or possibly days) and then stitched togetehr as in some it's clearly early in the day (e.g. co-op car park) and others it's very busy (Brabyn's Brow). If you look at the clocks on Church Lane on the insurance brokers and All Saint's Church it was between 1pm and 1:30pm. Any other clocks around Marple?

I was passed by the Google streetcar when I was walking my dog, but it doesn't seem to have been filiming as I'm not there at the poiny it passed me.

It is slightly bizarre though, to see Marple like that.

Thanks for that, there goes another hour of my life!  ::) Great fun though  ;D
You can tell the pictures were taken last year as there isn't half as many pot holes in the road!

As my sister said to me in an e-mail telling me about this - make sure you don't have anything cooking on the stove before you start playing with it, or you will have a burnt offering!!  I agree it must have been early in the day - wasn't the Co-op car park quiet? :D
